The courage displayed in the line of fire is no different from the courage needed in everyday life – to stand by one’s values, to confront hardship with dignity, and to keep moving forward when everything seems lost. The lessons learnt on the battlefield transcend the military. Whether in corporate boardrooms, political leadership, education or sports, the principles of leadership, empathy, and teamwork are universal.
