New Delhi, Jan 17 (UNI) The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has recently started ‘Smart Classes’ or internet based classes to help and enhance the knowledge of the local school children in naxal affected areas of Kondagaon district in Chhattisgarh.
According to the Force officials, evening classes have been started for remotely located village children in Maoist infested area Hadeli and adjoining peripheral villages in Kondagaon district where the Jawans of 41st Battalion have been helping them to enhance their knowledge through the audio-visuals available on the internet with the help of computers and projectors.
The classes are being taken by graduate ITBP personnel and have experience and knowledge to organise such classes. Apart from this, various online learning videos on YouTube, and with the help of e-learning websites have been also taken to teach the students by giving them enough opportunities to learn and practice.
“This is envisaged that the value addition of one hand a half hour capsule course on daily basis would in future enable the students to pursue higher studies and would help children to understand the methods of e-learning and virtual online classes”, the ITBP spokesperson said, adding that some 50 students are being benefitted from the initiative. All these classes are organised through mobile phone’s internet of jawans.
The region is thickly forested and week internet signal, the ITBP personnel hang their mobile set on a height through bamboo/ tree trunk/ tree where it receives good network and then it is connected through wi fi hotspot to the laptop used for smart classes on screen through a projector whereas the sound is delivered through Bluetooth speakers.
In return, the jawans, who teaches these children, are also being taught local Habli language by these children.
