The phase of strong rains that continued from 7 pm on Tuesday in Surat in Gujarat continued on Thursday for the third day. The city recorded 9.89 inches of rain in these 60 hours. Due to this, the population settled in more than half a kilometer in the areas of mountain Patia, Phulpara, Halapati habitat of the city has been submerged. By late Wednesday night, the water of the flooded creeks started entering the surrounding areas.People are relocating and pumping water out.

Due to continuous rains, water logging was seen in many areas of the city. Due to overflow of Mithi Bay and Seema Bay, areas like Parvatgam, Parvat Patia, Godadara, Halapitwas filled the waters of the Gulf. In many places the waters of the Gulf entered the settlements.

From 6 am Tuesday to 6 am Wednesday, the city received 3 inches and seven and a half inches of rain in Omarpada. From 6 am Wednesday to 6 am Thursday, the city received four and a half inches of rain and Umarpada received four inches of rain. From 6 am to 6 pm on Thursday, 3 inches of rain, Umarpada received five and a half inches of rain. Mandvi tehsil received six and a half inches of rain in 60 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature on Thursday was 28 degrees and the minimum temperature was 26.6 degrees.
