‘Aashram-3’: Diggy slams Bajrang Dal

Bhopal, Oct 25 : In the wake of a protest against filming of Bollywood director Prakash Jha’s web series ‘Aashram-3’, Rajya Sabha Member Digvijaya Singh alleged on Monday that the Bajrang Dal has become an organisation of people having criminal tendencies.

“Bhopal has emerged as rather popular with regard to film-making and Prakash Jha is a reputed producer. Should not the city police have provided security cover to his unit? I ask the Chief Minister and the state Home Minister, how long will Madhya Pradesh’s public tolerate the thugs hired by you?” the former chief minister wrote in social media.

Meanwhile, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s state Media In-charge Lokendra Parashar wrote, “Why is ‘Aashram’ the name given to the place where atrocities are being committed against women? Why not ‘Afghanistan’?”

Activists staged a protest late Sunday on Jail Road here. The Dal alleged that ashrams following the Sanatana tradition were being incorrectly portrayed in the series. The protesters demanded that the title and the screenplay be changed.
