Jammu, Jan 15: Targetting Pakistan and China, Lt. Gen Y K Joshi GoC-in-C, Northern Command today said that in Northern command army is contending with triple challenges.
Speaking on the occasion of Army Day, he elaborated, “first we have western adverseries that is Pakistan which has not relented from using terror as instrument of state policy secondly, we have northern borders were we have seen the Chinese belligerence the on LAC were it tried to alter the status quo which is being contested with resolve and courage by Indian Army and thirdly the internal situation in J&K which is stable and under control but has the propensity to flare up at any time. There is clusivity  factor. The culusive threat is there with activities from supplying of Weapons and sharing of objectionable practices and so many other things.”
Relentless operations on the LOC but with robust multi agency grid in hinterland has forced the deep state in Pakistan to change it’s approach, Gen Joshi said that they are in process of recalibrating their approach to handle this situation. The terrorist network across are trying hard to abet recruitment by extensive use of social media. The DDC election recently have conveyed the resolve and will of the command to shun separatism and embrace democracy. The abrogation of 370 and improvement in governance has been a major game changer and helped in restoring faith in the common people in the institutions of the Government.

The challenge in Eastern Ladakh had been further complicated by difficult weather and terrain there the Indian Army has displayed immense sprit and determination to March the Chinese belligerence and giving they befitting reply and today i am satisfied with all the action that northern command has taken in August last year and now we have operational advantage and negotiating with PLA from the position if equivalence.
