New Delhi, Nov 26 (UNI) International commercial flights to and from the country will remain suspended till December 31, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation said on Thursday. The suspension of such flights were scheduled to end on November 30.
However, international all-cargo operations and flights, such as repatriation flights, charter flights, flights under the Vande Bharat Mission and air bubble agreements, will continue to operate, the DGCA said in a circular.
International scheduled flights may be allowed on select routes by the competent authority on a case-to-case basis, it added. International flights were banned on March to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since May 25, domestic flights have been allowed in a limited capacity.
Select international flights have been allowed to operate, mostly to repatriate stranded citizens.
India has bilateral air bubbles in place with as many as 24 countries such as the US, the UK, UAE and Maldives for international air travel between them.
