Cabinet nod for awareness campaign to check spread of Coronavirus

New Delhi, Oct 7(UNI) The Union Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the launch of a campaign from Thursday to promote masks, social distancing and hand washing to prevent spread of Covid-19.
Addressing a press conference after the meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said, ‘The Cabinet discussed the COVID-19 situation and the challenges in the winter ahead. The Cabinet felt that in the Corona Kaal, while there is no need for fear but at the same time one needs to be careful. Winter is approaching. During winters, the people should follow precautions.

‘In the absence of a vaccine, masks, social distancing and washing your hands is the only defense against corona. In thus context, a campaign will start on Thursday to raise awareness about these measures in public places .’

As part of this campaign, banners and posters to promote measures to prevent spread of Corona virus infection will be put up in all public places – airports, railway stations and auto rickshaw stands.
