Covid-19: Bihar government extended lockdown till 6th September; things to know about the lockdown across the state

Amid rise in Covid-19 cases Bihar government led by Nitesh Kumar extended the lockdown across the state .The guidelines under Unlock 3.0  by the Central government , the restrictions will be imposed in the containment zones, other areas and buffer zones  in regard to spread of corona virus.

The Bihar government said,”In view of the present situation of COVID-19 in the State of Bihar, in exercise of the powers, conferred by the MHA by the aforesaid instructions, in continuation of the MHA order, the restrictions imposed issued by this department order wide memo no. 102/f4.F.31t dated 30.7.2020 imposing further restrictions will remain effective till 06.09.2020,”.

Though, all the essential and other services, which were allowed earlier in the state, will be permitted under the renewed  lockdown.

During the earlier lockdown the government had released detailed list of guidelines.

Banks, insurance offices and ATMs will remain functional.

Media including Print and electronic are allowed to operate during this lockdown.

 Information Technology companies, who work as essential sectors, are allowed to work.

Internet service providers, broadband and cable services are also functional. E-commerce services will be allowed  like Amazon and Flipkart.

Restaurants are permitted but only home delivery or the take away services. However, hotels, motels & lodges are exempted.

Taxis and autos are allowed plying on roads. Private vehicles are permitted only for limited activities.

Going for work, office goers must carry their identification card while travelling.

Essential service providers are allowed only to commute from home to work place.

However, the places of worship, schools, colleges, training, research, coaching institutions and other educational institutions will remain closed.

Offices of the government of India its autonomous/subordinate offices and public corporation shall remain closed.

Moreover, the entertainment services like  malls, movie theatres, swimming pools will remain close. Sports and cultural complexes will still remain shut.

Commercial, private and government establishments will also remain closed.

At present, Bihar’s corona virus cases counts has climbed up to 1.04 lakh till Sunday as 2,187 and more people were tested positive for  corona virus  infection, while 22  new fatalities has pushed it to death toll up to 537,as stated the health bullitien.

Patna district has registered the highest number of new cases at 255, followed by 177 in Bhagalpur , 127 in Madhubani , 113 in Aurangabad and 97 each in both Muzaffarpur and Saharsa. So far, the state capital has 16,621 reported.

Five new fatalities were reported in Patna, 4 in Gaya, 2 each in both East Champaran and Rohtas and 1 each in Bhagalpur, Bhojpur, Buxar, Darbhanga, Gopalganj, Munger, Nawada, West Champaran and Siwan districts, stated by the bulletin.

Moreover, Bihar has tested 16.79 lakh samples for COVID- 19, including the  data 67,212 on the preceding day.

The recovery rate in the state has increased to 69.71 per cent, said Anupam Kumar,
