Govt upgrades Kailash Vijayvargiya security after attack in Bengal

New Delhi, Dec 14(UNI) Following attack on the BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, the Centre on Monday upgraded his security and he will be accorded with Z category of the security alongwith a bulletproof car in Bengal, a Home Ministry official said.

Under this upgraded security arrangements, Mr Vijayvargiya will be getting CRPF or CISF security cover which involves around 22 security personnel, including two to eight guards at residence and two Personal Security Officers (PSOs), round the clock and an escort of one to three for all the road journey. Apart from this, he has been provided with a bulletproof car also.

BJP president JP Nadda cavalcade along with Kailash Vijayvargiya along with other party leaders was came under attack allegedly by the ruling party All India Trinamool Congress led Government on last Thursday when Mr Nadda was visiting the Diomond Harbour constituency in Kolkata.

Following the attack, the The BJP state unit wrote Union Home Amit Shah and the Ministry of Home Affairs took serious note of this jad sought report from the State Government and from the Governor as well.

The MHA also summoned West Bengal Chief Secretary and DGP on December 14 and also called three IPS officers for central deputation who were responsible for making BJP chief’s visit to the state safe and secure.
