New Delhi, Nov 26 (UNI) President Ram Nath Kovind led the nation in reading out the Preamble on Thursday on the occasion of Constitution Day. Mr Kovind read out the Preamble, regarded as the core of the Indian Constitution in a programme broadcast live by Government broadcaster Doordarshan, in which the audience also repeated the text read out by the President.
The reading of the preamble was organised under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
The President tweeted about this development earlier today.
The programme was part of the various functions and competitions organised by the Ministry to spread the values and principles of the Constitution among the people.
