Lucknow, Sep 21 (UNI) A married young couple killed self when they were being brought to Lucknow from Bareilly under police custody to record their statement in the court on Monday morning.
Police sources here said that the couple were being brought along with their family members when they consumed poison. Both were rushed to the Trauma centre in Lucknow but died.
According to the police Vikas Soni (22) and Parul (19), both natives of Krishnanagar in Lucknow had eloped a few months back and were staying in Bareilly as a husband and wife.
The girl’s family had made a police complaint and both were being brought to Lucknow to produce them before the court. The police had taken a transit remand in Bareilly to bring this couple to Lucknow.
In the vehicle in which the couple were being brought, the brother and brother-in-law of the girl were also travelling but they could not find how the couple consumed poison.
Police said a probe has been ordered.
