Mayawati terms UP supplementary budget as ‘disappointing’

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has described the Supplementary Budget presented by the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh assembly on Wednesday as less of expectations for the public and more ‘disappointing’ budget.

“The way in which the BJP government is making promises and declarations, the budget is not arranged accordingly, and as a result of which, these (promises and declarations) will remain only on paper,” Mayawati said.

Taking to Twitter, the BSP chief also said, “If the UP government had reduced the price of petrol by Rs 3 like Tamil Nadu, then crores of people could get some relief from inflation.”

The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh presented the first supplementary budget for Rs 7301.5 crores financial year 2021-22 in the state legislature on Wednesday.
