Cadets of NCC Directorate Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh in an effort to spread awareness about COVID vaccination had launched a cycle rally in Border Areas of RS Pura sector. The rally consisted of eleven NCC Cadets to include four Girls and was led by Brig NR Babu, Deputy Director General of the Directorate.
The rally under the theme “JAAN HAI TO JAHAN HAI” was flagged off by Brig Satish Kumar, Group Commander, Jammu, in presence of Col Dharmendra Pandey, CO, 4 J&K Bn NCC from the Balidan Stambh in Jammu and covering a distance of 35 Kms reached Suchetgarh Border Out Post. Enroute the Cdts displaying COVID vaccination programme banners had explained to the rural masses at Garhi Garh, Miran Sahib, Simbal Camp Morh, Tinde Kalan, Kulliyan Peer Baba, Chhohale Morh, RS Pura, Purana Pind and Suchetgarh village about the likelihood of third wave of COVID and the dire need for getting vaccination done which will save precious lives. Other preventive measures like use of masks, sanitizers and social distancing norms were also explained.
Major General Ranjan Mahajan, Sena Medal, Additional Director General of NCC Directorate Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh commended the efforts of the Cadets.
Speaking on the occasion, he also said that it is our collective responsibility to be part of Prime Minister’s nationwide campaign regarding COVID vaccination and appealed to the common masses of the Border Areas to go for vaccination for a COVID free life ahead.
