The North East Farmers’ Federation has appealed to the Centre to withdraw the three contentious Farmers’ Bills as it has continued imbroglio between the agitating farmers and the Union Government would not only affect the wellbeing of Farmers but would also have a serious repercussion on the overall economy of the country.

In a press release issued by the North East Farmers’ Federation of India (NEFFI), by NEFFI President Dr YY Kikon and Secretary-General Zion Lalremruata, has appealed to the Government of India to create a congenial atmosphere for early settlement of the Farmers’ Bills issue with the agitating stakeholders, with patience and understanding.
With the country in the midst of a second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, it would be wise on the part of the Government to withdraw the imposed new Farm Bills. With the Country in the midst of the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, NEFFI said it would be wise on the part of the Government to withdraw the “imposed” three Farmers’ Bills. It said that the long-standing imbroglio between the farmers and the Union Government has caused immense hardships and sufferings to the farmers of Haryana, Punjab and some parts of UP in the last few months.
Expressing grief the loss of lives in the long-standing imbroglio between the farmers and the Centre, the federation stated that the unresolved differences would also have a serious repercussion on the overall economy of the country.
