Over 63,000 new cases, India’s virus count climbs to 25,89,682

India’s COVID-19 count climbed up to 25,89,682 with a spike of 63,490 infections in a single day, while the total case of recoveries rise to 18,62,258 by pushing the rate of recovery to 71.91%, according to the data of Union Health Ministry on Sunday.

The death toll rise to 49,980 in just a span of 24 hours with around 944 people succumbing to the corona virus infection, the data updated on Sunday morning.

Since 7th, August, in India over 60,000 cases are being reported daily , except for 11thAugst as the country reported 53,601 new cases of the infecton.

The fatality rate of cases has declined to 1.93 per cent.

So far, 6,77,444 active cases of coronavirus  in the country, which involve 26.16 per cent of the total caseload in the country.

India crossed 20lakh on 7th,August.

A cumulative total of 2,93,09,703 samples have been tested on August 15 along with 7,46,608 samples being tested on Saturday, according to the Indian Council Of Medical Research.

Total of 944 new death cases reported which include 322 from Maharashtra, 127 from Tamil Nadu, 114 from Karnataka, 87 from Andhra Pradesh, 58 each from both West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, 40 are from Punjab, 19 from Gujarat, 16 from Rajasthan, 13 from Madhya Pradesh, 10 each from both, Delhi and Haryana.

Nine fatalities reported from Odisha &Telangana, eight are from Bihar, seven cases each from  Assam, J&K and Kerala, five each from both-Goa and Tripura, four each are from Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand while Ladakh has registered only one fatality.

49,980 total of death cases, Maharashtra have the maximum cases reported at 19,749, followed by Tamil Nadu i.e. 5,641, 4,188 cases in Delhi, 3,831 are in Karnataka, 2,765 in Gujarat, 2,562 in Andhra Pradesh, 2,393 in Uttar Pradesh, 2,377 in West Bengal and 1,094 in Madhya Pradesh.

In Rajasthan 862 people have died of corona infection, 771 in Punjab, 693 in Telangana, 528 in Haryana, 527 in Jammu and Kashmir, 450 in Bihar, 333 in Odisha, 228 in Jharkhand, 182 in Assam, 151 in Uttarakhand and 146 in Kerala.

Chhattisgarh has registered 134 deaths, 106 in Puducherry, 98 in Goa , 55 inTripura, 28 in Chandigarh, 24 each in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, 19 in Himachal Pradesh, 13 in Manipur, 10 in Ladakh, 8 in Nagaland,6 in Meghalaya, 5 in Arunachal Pradesh, 2 each in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu and 1 in Sikkim.

The health ministry stressed on comorbidities due to which more than 70% of the deaths occurred.

Our figures are being reconciled with the Indian Council of Medical Research and  also the state-wise distribution of figures is subject to further verification and reconciliation, said by ministry.
