Petrol, diesel prices remain stable for the 14th day in row

New Delhi, Jul 31 : Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged across the country for the 14th consecutive day on Saturday. In Delhi, petrol prices remained at Rs 101.84 a litre while the rate of diesel was at Rs 89.87, according to Indian Oil Corporation Limited’s (IOCL) price listing.

The petrol price in Mumbai also remained unchanged and retailed at Rs 107.83 per litre while diesel was being sold at Rs 97.45 per litre. One litre of petrol is priced at Rs 102.49 in Chennai and diesel costs Rs 94.39 per litre in the city.

Petrol in Kolkata costs Rs 102.08 per litre and diesel Rs 93.02.
Following the hikes since May 4, the price of petrol crossed the Rs 100-per-litre mark across many places in at least 19 states and union territories including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Ladakh, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Kerala, Punjab, Sikkim, Puducherry, Delhi and West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

In the international market, oil prices edged higher with demand growing faster than supply and vaccinations expected to alleviate the impact of a resurgence in Covid-19 infections across the world.
