Sensex regains over 300 pts

Mumbai, Sep 10 (UNI) The BSE Sensex bounced back by 323 pts to open at 38,516.88 on Thursday, snapping two days negative trend as buying was seen across the board amid strong global cues.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too rose by 77 pts to 11,355.65. The sectoral indices include, Energy, Industrials, Capital Goods and Power stocks lifted the market.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 38,517.36 and 38,367.07 pts respectively. The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 11,367.35 and 11,327.40 respectively. The Mid Cap moved up by 0.81 pc and Small Cap by 1.67 pc. In 30 scrips, 24 advanced while 6 declined.

In scrips, Reliance Industries scaled a new lifetime high after gaining 2 per cent amid reports that marquee investors including KKR, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) could be in line to pick stakes in the company’s retail-arm Reliance Retail Ltd.

Other gainers were Indusind Bank by 2.87 pc to Rs 622.80, Bajaj Finserv by 2 pc to Rs 6146.40, SBI by 1.98 pc to Rs 198.75 and Bajaj Finance by 1.43 pc to Rs 3472.85. The losers were Bajaj Auto by 1.26 pc to Rs 2880.15, Titan by 0.41 pc to Rs 1156.05, Bharti Airtel by 0.30 pc to Rs 503 and Hind Unilever by 0.15 pc to Rs 2128.65.
