Sisodia says govt taking all precautions to check spread of bird flu in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan. 11 (UNI) With samples from Sanjay Lake testing positive for bird flu, the Delhi Government has restricted the supply of processed chicken from outside Delhi.
Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday said the government was taking all precautionary measures to check the spread of bird flu in the Capital.
Appealing to the public not to panic, Mr Sisodia said that reports of some samples sent to Jalandhar for testing were still awaited. As a precautionary measure, the government has already imposed a ban on wholesale chicken market and live-stock from outside.

Bird flu does not spread from human to human but there is need to be careful and sanitize areas where birds have died. There is no need to panic. We are taking all precautions,’’ he told a press conference here.
