SSR case: SC lawyer urges CBI to increase probe team’s strength

New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) A senior advocate has written a letter to Central Bureau of Investigation to increase the strength of the probe team investigating the death of Hindi cinema actor Sushant Singh Rajput to crack the high-profile case quickly.

Ajay Agrawal, a Supreme Court lawyer, said as many angles are emerging from the case and media is keeping an eye on minute-to-minute development, all hopes are now on the CBI and urged the probe agency director Rishi Kumar Shukla to personally look into the case and if possible go to Mumbai where investigations are taking place.

Mr Agrawal, who is also the president of social organisation Akhil Bhartiya Nagrik Swabhiman Mahasangh, said this case can also uncover the drug mafia’s operating in Mumbai as well as other ‘big fishes’ breeding in the city.

Actress Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik Chakraborty and house manager of Sushant, Samual Miranda have been quizzed by Narcotics Crime Bureau (NCB).

Earlier, the advocate filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding the transfer of the case from the Mumbai Police to the CBI.

His organisation, ABNSM, as per an official statement has been fighting issues concerning larger public interests.

Mr Agrawal, has filed Public Interest Litigation (PILs) in high profile cases like Taj Corridor, Telgi Stamp Scam, Bofors, Ottavio Quatrocchi and others, the statement added.
