Krishi Vigyan Kendra Jammu Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology-Jammu, working under the dynamic leadership of Prof. J.P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu and able guidance of Dr. S K Gupta, Director Extension, participated in knowledge sharing workshop on Natural farming organised by NITI Aayog on 30th Nov. 2021. It was a way step forward after being realisation of adoption of Natural farming by many farmers across INDIA. Technical Session – II Natural Farming: Farmers and KVK experiences was chaired by Prof. J.P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu where in Dr. Sharma emphasised the need of natural farming for boosting farmer’s income.
On the occasion KVK-Jammu also organised a field demonstration of “Super Seeder” which was attended by large no. of farmers of Jammu District. Dr. Punit Choudhary, Sr. Scientist and Head KVK Jammu, explained about the machine performance and its efficiency and how it will help in reducing the cost of cultivation thereby helping in achieving objectives of Doubling Farmer’s Income. The demonstration was also attended by Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, Assoc. Prof. Agronomy, Dr. R. P. Puniya, Jr. Scientist, AICRIP Weed management, Dr. Sunil Mishra Asstt. Prof. Agronomy, Dr. Balbir Dhotra, Jr. Scientist OFRC, along with Dr. Prem Kumar, Dr. Muneeshwar, Dr. Amitesh and Dr. Raju Gupta, Scientists from KVK Jammu.
