New Delhi, Oct 4 (UNI) Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan underwent heart surgery in a Delhi hospital on Saturday night, his son and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Chirag Paswan said here on Sunday.He also said that his father might have to undergo another surgery in the coming weeks if the need arises.

“For the last many days papa has been admitted to hospital and getting treated. Due to some sudden health issues on yesterday evening, an operation of his heart had to be conducted in the late evening,” Mr Chirag Paswan said.

He also said that if the need arises, possibly after a few weeks another operation might be conducted. Thanks to all for standing by me and my family in this hour of struggle.

Lok Jan Shakti Party National President also thanked those who stood with family at the time of this crisis.

On Saturday, Mr Chirag Paswan was in Patna in connection with his party meeting for the upcoming Assembly Election in Bihar but he had to rush back to Delhi following his father’s health complications.

The 74-year-old politician has been suffering from age-related ailments for quite some time now.
