The students demonstrated proper methods for the disposal of polythene and other non-degradable materials encouraging the locals, particularly women to convert kitchen waste into compost for use in backyard gardening. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local villagers who pledged to follow safe practices for waste disposal. Faculty members and students from SKUAST-Jammu Chatha Campus also joined the drive in large numbers. The programme was supervised by Dr. Narinder Panotra, NSS Programme Officer (Biotechnology) and coordinated by Dr. Subhash C. Kashyap, NSS Coordinator of the University. The cleanliness drive concluded with refreshments for the participants. This initiative was part of the regular activities conducted by NSS SKUAST-Jammu to promote cleanliness and sustainability in the community.
