Jammu: Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister has launched a scathing attack on the PDP leader for shedding crocodile tears over the killing of an ex-serviceman by terrorists in the Valley.
Lambasting the PDP leader, Kavinder Gupta asserted that Valley-based political parties have historically supported and nurtured terrorism for their own political survival. He pointed out that these parties not only provided a safe haven for separatist elements but also promoted policies that emboldened anti-national forces, leading to decades of bloodshed and unrest in the region. “It is hypocritical for PDP leaders to express concern now when their own hands are stained with the past sins of encouraging terrorism and divisive politics,” he remarked.
Kavinder highlighted that it was the Modi Government’s decisive and bold policies that put an end to the menace of stone pelting, hartals, and the culture of bandhs in Kashmir. “The dark days of shutdowns and orchestrated street violence are over. The common people of Kashmir, especially the hardworking youth, are now engaged in productive activities, earning their livelihood with dignity instead of being used as pawns in a game of political deception,” he said.
The former Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that the abrogation of Article 370 was a game-changer in restoring normalcy in the Valley and bringing it on the path of peace and progress. He accused the PDP and other such parties of misleading the people by glorifying separatist ideologies instead of working towards the development of the region.
Kavinder asserted that the BJP remains committed to ensuring a terrorism-free and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir. He reiterated that the Modi Government’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism has dismantled terror networks and ensured that those who harbor or support terrorism face strict action. “There is no place for terrorism in New India, and the government remains firm on its resolve to eradicate every element that threatens the peace and stability of Jammu and Kashmir,” he concluded.
