India’s cumulative vaccination coverage crosses 18 cr

New Delhi, May 15(UNI) The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has exceeded 18 crore, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday. As per as per the provisional report this morning, a total of 18,04,57,579 vaccine doses have been administered through 26,02,435 sessions. These include 96,27,650 Health Care Workers (HCWs) who have taken the first dose and 66,22,040 who have taken the second dose.

New Delhi, May 4 (UNI) A total of 75,24,903 Covid vaccine doses are still available with the states and Union Territories, the Ministry of Health said on Tuesday. The Centre has so far provided 16,69,97,410 vaccine doses to the states free of cost, the Ministry's statement said. As per data available this morning, of this, the total consumption including wastage is 15,94,75,507 doses.

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday visited a polyclinic at Saraswati Vihar for the ''symbolic start'' of the third phase of the ongoing nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive and said that vaccination drive for the citizens in the age group of 18-44 will begin in the National Capital from May 3. Under phase III of the ongoing Covid vaccination programme beginning from May 1 onwards across the country, all people in the 18-44 age group will be eligible for inoculation. Mr Kejriwal said the Delhi government has already received 4.5 lakh vaccines and now they are distributing them in all districts. He appealed to every citizen that the vaccination is not walk-in yet, so please don't queue at the centres.

Janssen applies for authorization of its COVID-19 vaccine in South Korea...

Seoul, Feb 27 (Sputnik) Belgian firm Janssen Pharmaceuticals, part of Johnson & Johnson, has applied for authorization of its COVID-19 vaccine in South Korea, the Yonhap news agency reported on Saturday. The application was filed with the Food and Drug Administration of South Korea. Seoul has inked a deal with Janssen Pharmaceuticals to import six million vaccine doses. Deliveries are scheduled to start in the second quarter of the year.

Germany to pledge extra $1.8Bln to COVAX facility in 2021: Maas

UNITED NATIONS, Feb 18 (Sputnik) Germany intends to invest another 1.5 billion euros ($1.8 billion) in the COVAX vaccine distribution tool in 2021, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas told the UN Security Council. On Wednesday, the UN body held an open debate on ensuring equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines in contexts affected by conflict and insecurity.

First consignment of Covishield vaccines leaves Serum Institute Pune

Pune, Three temperature-controlled trucks rolled out of the Serum Institute's gates shortly before 5 am and left for Pune airport, from where the vaccines will be flown to different parts of India.
