COVID: India to vaccinate senior citizens from March 1

New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday said that people aged over 60 and those above 45 years with co-morbidities will be inoculated at 10,000 government and over 20,000 private vaccination centres from March 1. The Minister apprised that the proposal was approved at a meeting of the Union Cabinet which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. People will receive the COVID vaccine jab free of cost at government centres.

India reports 13,742 new COVID cases, 104 deaths

New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) India recorded 13,742 new cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, pushing the country caseload to 1,10,30,176, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday. Besides, the country also reported 104 more fatalities in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths to 1,56,567. Now, the case fatality rate stands at 1.42 per cent.
