Islamabad, July 27 : The Pakistani rupee continued to slide against the dollar on Wednesday, hitting another low of Rs236 in the interbank market. According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the local currency fell Rs3.77 to Rs236.70 from Tuesday’s close of Rs232.93 at 11:30am. FAP chairman Malik Bostan highlighted that there was a need to increase dollar inflows as it would stabilise the rupee.

Pakistan reports 592 Covid cases, 7 deaths

Islamabad, July 20 (UNI/Xinhua) Pakistan reported 592 new Covid-19 cases and seven more deaths during the last 24 hours, the country's ministry of health said on Wednesday. The tally of infected people increased to 1,547,795 with the new cases, according to the data released by the ministry.

Pakistan: 23 die, 26 missing after boat capsizes in Indus River

Islamabad, July 19 : Around 23 people have died and 26 others are still missing after a boat carrying members of the wedding party capsized in the Indus River, The News reported on Tuesday. Locals were able to rescue 45 people while rescue operations were still under way to find the missing people. Officials said that the boat capsized as it was overload. Several women and children were among the dead.

Karachi, Jan 30 : A gas leakage explosion took place in Karachi's Ghazi Goth in Pakistan injuring at least six people, the media reported on Sunday. "The blast was caused by gas leakage from a water tank in a house in Sachal police jurisdiction," police said. According to police, "the explosion happened owing to pressure of gas during cleaning of a water tank," ARY News reported. "A man who entered in the water tank for cleaning ignited a match stick, which resulted in explosion," police officials said
