As a result, unemployment has reached record levels.
Shri Devender Yadav said that despite the Constitution providing reservations for the socially disadvantaged groups in jobs, they have been prevented from holding key positions in jobs and society as a deliberate strategy by the BJP Government. He said that only a few, privileged group occupies these top roles and controls decision-making and policy implementation against which the Congress leadership has been raising their voice, loud and clear, forcing the Modi Government to agree Shri Rahul Gandhi’s persist demand for caste-based census. He said that Shri Rahul Gandhi’s demand to conduct a social “X-ray” through caste census and help the marginalized sections of society claim their rightful place have caught country-wide attention with the marginalized people looking upto the Congress to speak up for their progress and social mobility.
Shri Devender Yadav said that atrocities against Dalits, Adivasis, and backward classes continue unabated, and women are falling victims to sexual violence with law enforcing agencies standing as mute witnesses. He said that this violates the constitutional guarantees of equality and the right to live with dignity.
Shri Devender Yadav said that the BJP government has misused constitutional institutions like the Income Tax Department, Enforcement Directorate, Election Commission, and CBI as political tools, to target political opponents for revenge.
Shri. Devender Yadav said that the Congress party had passed the Street Vendors’ Act to make them earn their livelihood with dignity and without harassment from police and officials at designated vending zones with vending licenses but neither the BJP Government nor the previous AAP Government did nothing to allow the street vendors to conduct their trade with dignity.
Shri Devender Yadav said that by directly attacking the basic rights of poor people, the BJP’s triple-engine government is demolishing slums to render the poor homeless though play a very vital role in the development and progress of Delhi. He said that the Modi Government had promised ” roof over the head of houseless” but it has instead worked to uproot the poor slum dwellers. In contrast, the Congress government had built flats for the poor in Kalkaji and Jailerwala Bagh and construction was on in Kathputli Colony as part of the in-situ construction of flats for the poor. He said that the Congress Government started providing permanent houses to migrant workers from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and other states living in Delhi’s slums, and constructed 45,000 under the Rajiv Ratan Awas Yojna but the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP have failed the poor big time.
