An enriching two-day training program titled “Exploring Branding and Packaging Trends: A Path Forward for Agri-Business Growth” was successfully hosted by The Krishi Branding Centre of ABI at SKUAST-Jammu under the patronage of Prof. B. N Tripathi, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu on December 12th -13th, 2024. A total of 29 participants, including voluntarily involved aspiring agro-preneurs, progressive farmers, agri-startups and CEOs of various FPOs attended the training programme which was a blend of both online and offline lectures.
The programme intended to equip the participants with the latest trends and techniques in branding and packaging to enhance their agribusiness ventures. Esteemed experts from prestigious institutions such as IIM Jammu along with leading packaging companies like 4 sixes Packaging shared their valuable insights on various topics, including brand strategy and architecture, profit margin analysis and traceability standards, brand creation and communication and the cost and benefit analysis related to branding and packaging. To ensure a practical learning experience, the program also incorporated an industrial visit to VKC Nuts in Bari Brahmna, Jammu.
Prof. Jyoti Kachroo, P.I of KBC of ABI of SKUAST-Jammu and Course Director of the training programme gave details of the training and various activities held during the programme. She also enlightened the participants about the role of Krishi Branding Centre at SKUAST-Jammu and the Agri-Business Incubation Centre (ABI of SKUAST-J), which she is handling as a CEO and how it can help the budding entrepreneurs and agri-startups in branding and marketing their produce thereby capturing larger market share. She also discussed the importance of a detailed cost-benefit analysis regarding branding and packaging before the introduction of any product in the market. Previous trainings held under the project also received positive feedback as this one. The programme was co-ordinated by Ms. Magandeep Kaur, Ms. Eva Sharma and Mr. Anil Kumar (Team members of KBC of ABI, SKUAST-J).
The training programme culminated with certificate distribution. The participants appreciated the program’s hands-on approach and practical insights, and it concluded with positive feedback. 1The training empowered participants to cultivate strong brand identities and effective packaging solutions for their products.
