Puducherry, Sep 17 (UNI) As many as 323 more persons were tested positive for the Coronavirus and 13 patients died in the Union Territory since the last 24 hours. There are 4,744 active cases ending at 10 AM on Thursday.
According to the COVID 19 status released by the Health Department here, 216 new cases were reported in Puducherry region, 68 in Karaikal region, 30 In Yanam region and 9 in Mahe region.
As many as 330 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours. Of them, 317 were from Puducherry region,10 from Yanam region and three from Mahe region. Of the 13 deaths, ten were reported in Puducherry region and three in Karaikal region.
Presently 1265 patients were being treated in Puducherry region,111 in Karaikal, 212 in Yanam and 34 in Mahe region. Another 3122 persons tested positive for the virus were undergoing treatment in home isolation in all the four regions of the UT.
So far, 21,428 persons were infected by the virus and of which 16,253 were treated and discharged, 431 died and 4,744 patients were being treated in hospitals and home isolation.
