NEW DELHI, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Shri Devender Yadav condemned the BJP’s alleged vote manipulation in collaboration with the Election Commission, as revealed by Leader of the Opposition Shri Rahul Gandhi. He described this “vote theft” as a direct attack on the core of India’s democracy and called on every Congress worker to raise their voices against it to protect democratic values.
Speaking at the monthly District Congress Committee meeting held at Jhang Bhawan, Adarsh Nagar, Shri Yadav emphasized that vigilance must be maintained beyond election periods to prevent such fraudulent practices that help the BJP retain power illegally. He urged Congress members to actively support the party’s campaign against vote rigging and backed Rahul Gandhi’s demand for digital voter rolls from the Election Commission. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to fighting relentlessly to protect the soul of the nation.
Meetings were held across eleven districts where Rahul Gandhi’s presentation exposing vote theft was shared with Congress workers and leaders. The Adarsh Nagar meeting also saw participation from prominent leaders including District President Shri Sidharth Rao, Ex-Minister Dr. Narendra Nath, former MLA Shri Anil Bhardwaj, and others.
Shri Yadav highlighted that since independence, every citizen’s vote has been a constitutional right to freely elect their government. However, he alleged that the Election Commission has been acting under BJP’s influence to facilitate electoral fraud, including in Delhi. He called for increased public awareness on this issue, noting that the EC, as a constitutional body, must ensure free and fair elections rather than favoring one party.
Following Rahul Gandhi’s expose of electoral roll tampering, Shri Yadav pointed out that the Election Commission’s demand for affidavits from Rahul Gandhi was a worrying sign of declining democratic fairness.
To counter this, Shri Yadav announced plans for a widespread public awakening campaign to unveil BJP’s vote theft. He urged every Congress worker in Delhi to unite and demonstrate organizational strength, stressing that the issue affects all citizens beyond party lines. He encouraged discussing vote theft at all local meetings and on social media platforms.
He further stated that the entire nation is impacted by this fraud, as voters are being denied the right to freely choose their leaders. He accused the BJP of undermining the Constitution and subverting democracy to maintain power. Shri Yadav emphasized the importance of timely vote verification, warning that if delayed until elections, manipulations will continue unchecked.
He called for ‘Jan Jagran Abhiyan’ (Public Awareness Campaigns) at block, district, and state levels to expose these electoral irregularities. Reflecting on the current political climate, he lamented the compromised functioning of investigative agencies like the Election Commission, Enforcement Directorate, and CBI under BJP’s rule. However, he expressed confidence that the systematic efforts by Congress committees across districts and blocks are strengthening the organization for future challenges.
