
One-Day Bootcamp Organized by SKUAST-Jammu at GDC R.S.Pura under
JKCIP
Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu under
Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project in
Jammu and Kashmir (JKCIP) organized a One-Day Bootcamp at Government
Degree College (GDC) R.S. Pura under the dynamic leadership of Prof. B.N.
Tripathi, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu and guidance of Dr. S. K. Gupta,
Director Research, SKUAST-Jammu.
Dr. Pritpal Kour, Principal, GDC, R.S. Pura who was the Chief Guest on the
occasion, urged the students to actively participate in ideathons and hackathons
encouraging them to present their innovative ideas to secure funding support for the
establishment of their innovative enterprise/ startup.
Dr. Anil Bhat, Associate Director Research, SKUAST-Jammu and Co-PI of the
project delivered a detailed presentation on JKCIP, the concept of the Boot Camp
and shared inspiring success stories of startup establishments. In his address, Dr.
Bhat highlighted the importance of such boot camps for nurturing entrepreneurial
skills among students. He informed the participants about the objectives of JKCIP
and the funding opportunities available under its Agribusiness and Incubation
System component.
During the interactive session, students were divided into groups and assigned an
activity to identify problems, propose innovative solutions, develop business models
and analyze the potential impact of their ideas. Each group came forward with
creative and practical solutions, showcasing the enthusiasm and innovative spirit of
the youth. Dr. Pawan K. Sharma, Professor & Head, Agricultural Economics, is the
Nodal Officer of JKCIP, SKUAST-Jammu.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Shivani Manchanda. The
proceedings of the program were conducted by Mr. Sahil Gupta, Manager
Incubation, JKCIP.
The event witnessed the presence of Dr. Rajinder Sharma, Dr. Anupama Pandotra,
Dr. Kiran Pathania, Dr. Neeru Sawhney, Prof. Anju Kumari, Prof. Shelly Kalsi, Prof.
Meeshu Pandita, Prof. Geetika Goswami and Prof. Vijeeta Anand who also
motivated the students to harness innovation for entrepreneurship development. At
the end certificates were also distributed to students and faculty.
The Bootcamp provided a platform for students to explore innovation-driven
entrepreneurship with a vision to foster a startup culture in the region through the
support of JKCIP.
