Under the Expert Lecture Series of the Faculty of Basic Sciences, SKUAST-Jammu, Er.
Utkarsh Tripathi, Senior AI Engineer, 3M Healthcare, Pittsburgh, USA, delivered an
inspiring lecture on “Repositioning Yourself in the New AI World”. Er. Tripathi, in his talk,
highlighted Artificial Intelligence (AI) as the driving force behind the next wave of global
technological transformation. Referring to the Stanford AI Index 2025, he discussed how AI
is reshaping education and industries worldwide, with countries making computer science an
essential part of school curricula. He emphasized the rapid growth of AI applications in
healthcare, where AI-powered medical devices are transforming diagnosis and treatment.
He further spoke on the importance of massive infrastructure investments in GPUs, cloud
computing, and data centers that underpin AI progress. Urging students to view AI as a
collaborator rather than a competitor, he underscored emotional intelligence, creativity, and
innovation as enduring human strengths.
Prof. B. N. Tripathi, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor and Dr. Hema Tripathi, First Lady of the
University, graced the occasion. Dr. S. K. Gupta, Director Research and Dr. Anil Kumar,
Registrar, felicitated the guest speaker, while Dr. Sushil Sharma, Dean, Faculty of
Agricultural Engineering, shared his remarks. The lecture was hosted by Prof. Sanjay
Guleria, Dean, Faculty of Basic Sciences. Dr. Manish Kumar, Professor and Head, Division
of Statistics and Computer Science, proposed the vote of thanks, while Prof. Vivek Manohar
Arya conducted the proceedings. The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation of over
600 attendees, including statutory officers, faculty members, staff and students from all
