Petrol and diesel prices remain stable

New Delhi, Jan 15(UNI) After raising the prices of both petrol and diesel for two consecutive days, the government oil marketing companies on Friday kept the rates unchanged.

The four metropolitan cities of the country on Wednesday and Thursday witnessed a rise in the prices for both petrol and diesel by 50 paise per litre. On Thursday, the price of diesel rose from 24 paise to 26 paise and petrol from 22 paise to 25 paise.

The rise in the fuel prices on Wednesday came about after remaining stable for the previous five days straight.

In India’s commercial capital Mumbai, the price of petrol has come down by a mere 2 paise from the record high of Rs 91.34 per litre.

In the capital Delhi, the prices of diesel and petrol remained stable at Rs 74.88 and Rs 84.70 per litre respectively.

In Mumbai, the prices of petrol and diesel stood at Rs 91.32 and Rs 81.60 per litre respectively.

In Kolkata the prices of petrol and diesel stood at Rs 86.15 and Rs 78.47 per litre respectively.

In Chennai the prices of petrol and diesel stood at Rs 87.40 and Rs 80.18 per litre respectively.

Before this the oil companies had kept the prices of both petrol and diesel stable for 29 straight days before raising them on January 6 and 7 and then again keeping them stable for five days.
