Mumbai, Sep 7 : The Rupee on Tuesday tanked 32 paise to close negative at 73.42 against the USD on rising demand for US Dollar by bankers and exporters, dealers at the Forex Market said.
A local unit that fell by seven paise at 73.17 in opening trade, lost further and settled at 73.42, sliding 32 paise
as compared to its previous close.
The Rupee tumbled down due to strong dollar against other world currencies amid weak
equity market, dealer said
The local unit registered days high and low at 73.47 and 73.14 respectively.
