Mumbai, Aug 4 : The Rupee remained firm for another day on Wednesday, as it surged by ten paise to close at 74.18 against the USD on brisk selling of the greenback by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said.
In opening trade, the local unit rallied by 15 paise to 74.13. Till the end of the session, it slightly fell from opening level, but ended positive only at 74.18, up by ten paise as compared to its previous close.
The Rupee soared due to weak dollar against other world currencies amid robust equity market, the dealers said.
The local unit registered day’s high and low at 74.18 and 74.10 respectively.
