Sanjiv Singh former Indian Oil Corporation Chairman has joined Reliance Industries as Group President

Sanjiv Singh, former Indian Oil Corporation Chairman has joined Reliance Industries as Group President for its oil-to-chemicals business. The announcement was made via an internal communication by Hital R Meswani, Executive Director to employees. “Sanjiv will lead and drive the Group Manufacturing Services organisation which is the backbone of our Oil to Chemicals business,” stated Meswani. Singh had superannuated from his post as Indian Oil Corporation Chairman on 30th June.

The communication also noted that he will assume responsibility in a phased manner over the next 3 to 4 months, and he will resume work on 1st September, 2020 as quoted by ET Now. ‘As a member of the O2C leadership we look forward to his contribution in driving manufacturing excellence and transition towards making Reliance O2C a global leader in energy’, quoted Meswani.

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries has announced in its Annual General Meeting that the company will be hiving off its O2C business, which consists of 2 oil refineries in Jamnagar, Gujarat, into a separate subsidiary by early 2021. The company is also in talks with Saudi Aramco for a possible 20 percent stake sale in its O2C business.

For 3 years, Sanjiv Singh was the Chairman of IOC prior to which he was the Director of Refineries for the company. “During his tenure at IOCL, Sanjiv was instrumental in setting up and commissioning of two of IOCL’s biggest greenfield refineries at Panipat and Paradip. Sanjiv served as Executive Director of Pardip Refinery Project and was head of IOCL’s Panipat Refinery”, stated Meswani.
