Sensex recovers over 100 points

Mumbai, Sep 15 : The BSE Sensex on Thursday recovered by 108 points to open at 60,454.37 on the strength of Telecom, Utilities, Auto and Bankex stocks.

The Nifty too rose by 32 points at 18,046.35.

The Sensex registered days high and low at 60,676.12 and 60,417.68, respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 18,096.15 and 18,014.25, respectively.

The Mid Cap moved up by 0.25 and Small Cap by 0.46 per cent, respectively.

In 30 scrips, 17 advanced while 13 declined.

The gainers were Maruti Suzuki by 2.62 per cent to Rs 9,190.50; ICICI Bank by 1.39 per cent to Rs 931; L&T by 0.87 per cent to Rs 1,972; NTPC by 0.73 per cent to Rs 172.90 and M&M by 0.55 per cent to Rs 1,304.75.

The losers were IndusInd Bank by 1.20 per cent to Rs 1,201.85; Tata Steel by 1.15 per cent to Rs 107.85; Infosys by 1.06 per cent to Rs 1,459.40 and Tech Mahindra by 1.02 per cent to Rs 1,106.
