The BSE Sensex on Wednesday was at record high points of 56,188.49, up 230 pts in opening session following gains in Metal, Power, Technology and Oil and Gas stocks amid positive global cues.
The Nifty too rose by 55.65 pts at 16,680.25.
The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 56,188.49 and 55,999.71 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 16,699.70 and 16,646.65 pts respectively.
The Mid Cap moved up by 0.57 pc and Small Cap by 0.93 pc.
In 30 scrips, 14 advanced while 16 declined.
The gainers were Nestle India by 2.53 pc to Rs 20,286.65, TCS by 1.69 pc to Rs 3673.35, Tata Steel by 0.89 pc to Rs 1417.10, Hind Unilever by 0.73 pc to Rs 2659 and HDFC by 0.74 pc to Rs 2712.05.
The losers were Dr Reddy’s Lab by 1.29 pc to Rs 4528.55, Bajaj Finserv by 1.22 pc to Rs 16,275, Titan by 1 pc to Rs 1850.10 and Bharti Airtel by 0.97 pc to Rs 613.85.
