The BSE Sensex on Tuesday gained further by 107 pts at 55,663.26 in opening session on buying in Metal, Oil and Gas, Power and Realty stocks.
The Nifty too rose by 28.30 pts at 16,524.75.
The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 55,816.70 and 55,536.84 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 16,585.25 and 16,495.30 pts respectively. The Mid Cap moved up by 0.43 pc and Small Cap by 0.53 pc.
In 30 scrips, 15 advanced while 15 declined. The gainers were Bajaj Finserv by 3.90 pc to Rs 15,863.25, Tata Steel by 3.11 pc to Rs 1400.90, Tech Mahindra by 2.01 pc to Rs 1444.05, SBI by 1.59 pc to Rs 415.80 and Bajaj Finance by 1.42 pc to Rs 6850.
The losers were Kotak Bank by 1.21 pc to Rs 1696.70, HDFC by 1.16 pc to Rs 2690, Dr Reddy Lab by 1.09 pc to Rs 4469 and Nestle India by 1.08 pc to Rs 19,800.
