Haryana requests Centre to supply 40 MT of oxygen daily from Jamshedpur

Chandigarh, Apr 26 (UNI) In view of the large number of new and active COVID-19 cases in the state, the Haryana Government has requested the Central Government to supply 40 MT of oxygen daily from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand in addition to the quota of oxygen previously allocated to the state.
Giving this information here on Monday, an official spokesperson said that to ensure the supply of oxygen to COVID-19 patients, the State has also requested to increase the 162 MT quota of oxygen allocated by the Central Government to 270 MT per day.
He said that the 162 MT quota allocated for oxygen is not sufficient in view of 69,384 active cases of COVID-19 in the state with 10,000 new cases coming up every day. He said that this quota of oxygen should be increased to 270 MT, so that smooth and effective health services can be provided to the COVID-19 victims in the state.
He informed that it has been known that additional oxygen is available in the plants of M/s Air and Water, Jamshedpur and M/s Linde, Jamshedpur. The State Government is keen to bring this surplus oxygen to Haryana through tankers by rail.
