Training Camps were held in the Adarsh Nagar District under District president Shri Siddharth Rao, Karol Bagh under District president Shri Madan Khorwal and in Badarpur under District president Shri Harsh Chaudhary. The Training Camps started with flag hoisting, followed by the rendition of the national anthem and lighting of lamps. In the Adarsh Nagar District, balloons symbolizing unity and peace were released into the air.
The training camps were addressed by Congress Treasurer Shri Ajay Maken, AICC In-charge of Delhi Shri Qazi Nizamuddin, Secretary In-charge Shri Sukhvinder Singh Danny and Shri Danish Abrar, Rajesh Lilothia, former Delhi Minister Shri Mangat Ram Singhal and Dr. Narender Nath, Communication Department Chairman Shri Anil Bhardwaj, Administration Incharge Shri Jatin Sharma, ex-MLAs Hari Shankar Gupta, Hasan Ahmed, Sheesh Pal, AICC Spokesperson Ragini Nayak, Manish Chatrath, Lok Sabha and District Observers Jitender Kumar Kochar, Kamal Kant Sharma, C.P. Mittal, Advocate Sunil Kumar, P.K. Mishra, Capt. Khavinder Singh, Jagjivan Sharma, Sushma Yadav, and Satender Sharma, Trilok Singh, Panna Lal Kherwal and Ishwar Bagri .
Shri Devendra Yadav said that detailed discussions are being held in the district training camps on the Congress vision, the party’s glorious history, and the responsibilities of booth, mandal, sector, block presidents, district office bearers, and party workers because under the organization-rejuvenating campaign, Shri Rahul Gandhi has emphasized the need to strengthen the role of district presidents by integrating them into the mainstream of the organization and assigning them important responsibilities. The training camps are tasked with spreading the party’s ideals, programs, and policies at the grassroots level. He said that the workers must work on the party line for the welfare and development of the public and unite against the BJP’s attempts to divide people on the basis of religion, caste, and community. He added that the training camps also discussed strategies to counter the BJP’s dangerous agenda of capturing Constitutional institutions to undermine the unity and integrity of the country.
Shri Ajay Maken said that the District level training camp is a dynamic new initiative to give fresh orientation to district office bearers in implementing the policies, programmes and the stand of the party on various issues. He said that those who get training in the District camps will be entrusted with the responsibility of training office bearers and workers at the Block level. He emphasized that these training camps hold discussions about the developmental works carried out by the Congress governments, both at the Centre and in Delhi, as Congress’ focus was on development and people’s welfare and not imposing a divisive agenda, as is being done by the BJP.
Shri Ajay Maken said that the training camps would focus on the various issues needing urgent attention in Delhi as the BJP was demolishing the slum clusters and removing the street vendors to drive out the poor from Delhi, though they play a very crucial role in the development and maintenance of the Capital. He noted that in 2007, to prevent demolitions of JJ Clustes, the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre brought in an Ordinance, and on May 1, 2013, laid the foundation for the Street Vendors Protection Act to safeguard the livelihoods of street vendors, which was enacted into an Act in 2014. Furthermore, while in the Opposition in 2017, Shri Rahul Gandhi personally fought for the rights of those displaced from slums in Delhi, and I myself went to the High Court to obtain a stay order to prevent the eviction of thousands of slum dwellers. He said that under the in-situ construction of flats, the Congress Government formulated a plan to settle the slum dwellers on an as-is-where-is basis to protect their livelihood and education of their children, and had begun construction of 12,000 flats in Kalkaji, Jailorwala Bagh Road and Kathputli Colony. Additionally, under the Rajiv Ratna Housing Scheme, work started for the construction of 64,000 flats out of which 14,000 flats were were ready, but neither the Aam Aadmi Party nor the BJP bothered to allot these flats to the slum dwellers. He said that the BJP government is demolishing slums and displacing street vendors by citing court orders. He stated that even after 12 years of the enactment of the Street Vendors Act in 2014, not a single street vendor has been granted license nor vending zones have been earmarked, as mandated. He said that Shri Rahul Gandhi, who fights for the rights of slum dwellers, street vendors, Dalits, the underprivileged and backward classes, is their true well-wisher, and not BJP or AAP. He said that both the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP have only deceived these poor people with electoral promises only to betray them after assuming power.
Shri Qazi Nizamuddin said that after organizing Congress training camps across Delhi, there has been a renewed energy among Congress workers at the booth level. He expressed a strong desire to play a powerful role in strengthening the Congress organization up to the block level, in line with the vision of Shri Rahul Gandhi. He stated that Congress workers must unite and work against the BJP’s divisive tactics and, under Shri Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, build a new foundation for leading the country towards development and progress.
