Arunachal reports biggest single-day jump of 289 Covid-19 cases, tally mounts to 8,133

Itanagar, Sep 24 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh reported its sharpest single-day spike of 289 Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the state’s caseload to 8,133. Out of the fresh cases of infection, Itanagar Capital Complex (ICC) reported the highest at 173, followed by Changlang 17 and East Siang 13, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services (DHS).

Nine each cases were also reported from Papum Pare and Pakke Kessang, eight each from Namsai, Lohit and West Siang, seven from Upper Subansiri, six each from Anjaw, Longding, Upper Siang and West Kameng, five from Lower Dibang Valley (LDV), two each Lower Siang and Kra Daadi, one each from Tawang, Tirap, East Kameng and Siang, it said.

Of the 173 cases from ICC, 37 were detected from Banderdewa check gate, 36 from TRIHMS, Naharlagun, 28 each from paid quarantine testing centre and Civil Secretariat, 16 from RKM Hospital, 13 from Heema Hospital and nine from CCC-SOA testing centre here, and six from SQF, Lekhi.

Six among the 17 cases from Changlang are Assam Rifles personnel while seven detected from Kharsang, two from Jairampur, one from Miao and one from Changlang townships.

Out of the 13 cases from East Siang, 10 are GREF personnel detected from Ranaghat, two from Flu Clinic, BPGH-Pasihat and one is IRBn personnel detected in quarantine facility.

Barring 21, all the patients are asymptomatic.

According to the bulletin issued by the DHS last night, 125 Covid-19 patients were discharged, taking the total recoveries to 5,903.

Of the 12 discharged, highest were from ICC at 37, followed by Lohit 13 and West Siang 15.

Total active cases in the state stands at 2,216. Death toll at 14.
