Health Minister visits IGMC

Shimla, Nov 30(UNI) Nine months after the start of the Covid outbreak, the state Government’s health minister Rajiv Saizal visited ground zero for the first time to enquire about the Covid-19 patients on Monday.
Party press spokesman confirmed in a press release here today that Minister in Jairam government today visited IGMC Hospital, Shimla. Saizal became the first minister to wear PPE kit and inspect all four wards consisting of covid-19 patients.
He went man to man to all the patients in the hospital and enquired about their well being, he also asked them about the conditions of the hospital and the facilities they are receiving, the patients appreciated the efforts of the hospital administration and said that the health workers work performing their duties diligently and were always there toattend to them.
Some of the patients we appreciative of the administration’s efforts at ensuring cleanliness pointing out that it even at midnight cleanliness work would be carried out.
The Minister appreciated the health workers for working day in day out even risking their own well being an providing services in difficult conditions.
He said the opposition merely making a mockery of themselves while cursing the government on the covid-19 situation, he said they should visit the hospital themselves and see how well the health workers are doing their job.
He urged the opposition should not criticize the health workers but praise them so that their morale remains high in such difficult Times.
He also said that all the ministers of the state are keeping a close watch on the covid-19 situation in all hospitals and the chief minister is also very vigilant intaking quick actions and his only concern is how to save the people of Himachal Pradesh from this pandemic.
It is worthwhile to mention here that including Govt own Minister who contacted to Covid-19 remained critical if Health services being ignored by the staff and not being look after by the senior Medical Officer or expert.
Number of complaint of non Covid Health services and even Covid patient also came to light. A Covid positive woman ended her life in the DDU district Covid center on the similar trends now forcing the Government to take action against the CMO.
A Video went viral in which a Covid patient crying on Social Media for not given ambulatory services by the state run 108 rapid response at DDU as he was to shift IGMC Shimla after fracture injuries, Nodal Officer of Covid 19 and Principal Secretary Health Amitav Awasthi told Media person on Friday.
” A Team comprising Director Health services and Aditional DHS vist DDU on last Thursday to probe about alleged non availability of Ambulance service to the victim assuring disciplinary action against any one found guilty.” Nidal officer confirmed.
Mr Awasthi accepted the major abreation in health services rendered by the state government defending later that state is following correct policy to tackle the situation.
Mr Awasthi said that few complaints are there that senior or expert doctor are not visiting the Covid wards. He said that state government has directed the Health Department that such breach of service would not be allowed and stren action to be taken against those who would found in delerication of duty.
The state of Covid and non Covid Health services crippled with sudden spike in the cases as state registered as many as 40000 Coronavirus positive cases so far and around 8000 are active till Sunday.
