NEW DELHI, Delhi Congress, led by DPCC President Shri Devender Yadav, expressed heartfelt appreciation for Shri Rahul Gandhi’s ongoing “Voter Adhikar Yatra” in Bihar, aimed at highlighting irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and preventing voter manipulation. The acknowledgment came during a key meeting held under the ‘Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan’ at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan, where Lok Sabha and district observers, along with district presidents, gathered to discuss organizational strategies, monthly committee meetings, and upcoming local initiatives in Delhi.
Shri Devender Yadav praised the Bihar yatra for exposing attempts by the BJP, in collusion with the Election Commission, to undermine democratic processes. He emphasized that the Delhi Congress would continue to mobilize awareness campaigns to ensure citizens’ voting rights are protected.
Among the leaders present were former Delhi Minister Dr. Narendra Nath, Communications Head Shri Anil Bhardwaj, Administration Incharge Jatin Sharma, ex-MLAs Shri Hasan Ahmed and Shri Surender Kumar, several DCC presidents, and Lok Sabha observers.
Inspired by Rahul Gandhi’s efforts, Delhi Congress conducted a Tiranga Cycle Yatra in Babarpur on Independence Day (August 15) and a symbolic Voter Adhikar Yatra in Karawal Nagar on August 17, coinciding with the start of the Bihar campaign. Large numbers of party activists, including former MPs, MLAs, councillors, district leaders, and general secretaries, participated. Earlier, on August 14, candlelight marches were held across districts to send a strong message against vote theft.
Shri Devender Yadav announced that similar voter rights initiatives will be organized across Delhi in the coming weeks. He instructed district presidents to coordinate with block, mandal, and sector leaders to strengthen booth-level organization, raise awareness about electoral malpractices, and confront attempts to manipulate the democratic process.
