NEW DELHI, July 3, 2025—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav said that the shocking double murder of a 42-year-old woman and her 14-year-old son in Lajpat Nagar by their domestic help has once again highlighted the worsening law and order situation in the Capital, as the daily occurrence of murders, snatchings, robberies, assault on women and children have made Delhi the Crime Capital of the Country with people living in dread of their lives.
Shri Devender Yadav said that despite many recent incidents of the involvement of domestic helps and other insiders in heinous crimes, the police has failed to enforce verification of domestic helps before being hired. He said that CM Rekha Gupta seems to be busy installing luxurious fittings to her new official residence after enhancing the security of Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva from the ‘Y’ category to ‘Z’ immediately after the BJP assumed power in Delhi. He said that the BJP leaders, like the AAP leaders, were first ensuring their own security and comforts to derive full benefits of being in power while the plight of the poor and the common people continues without any solution.
Shri Devender Yadav said that it was surprising that after Rekha Gupta became the CM, crimes against women and children have witnessed a sharp spike, as she does not seem to be bothered about the deteriorating law and order situation, but only interested in scoring political points with publicity stunts.
Shri Devender Yadav said that the incompetence of the “Triple Engine” BJP Government has been thoroughly as despite Union Home Minister Amit Shah holding meetings with the Lt. Governor, Chief Minister, Police Commissioner and other senior officials about the law and order situation, crime rate has only gone up in the Capital over the past 100 days. He said that the BJP came to power with lofty promises like “we are dedicated to turning the vision of women-led development into a reality”, but women continue to suffer the worst under the rule of a woman BJP Chief Minister in Delhi.
