“When ideologies turn into weapons, and conspiracies are hatched to crush civilizations in the name of religious fervor — history does not remain silent; it rises as a warning.”
What is Ghazwa-e-Hind ? The term “Ghazwa” originates from Arabic, meaning a religious war or jihad, typically associated with military campaigns for Islamic expansion.
“Ghazwa-e-Hind” literally translates to a holy war against India.
This concept has been derived from certain Hadiths (Islamic prophetic traditions), which are selectively interpreted and promoted by radical Islamist groups. These Hadiths supposedly prophesy a decisive war in the Indian subcontinent where Muslim armies would emerge victorious.
While the authenticity and interpretation of these Hadiths are disputed even among Islamic scholars, extremist groups have weaponized this narrative to spread hatred and incite violence against India.
Ghazwa-e-Hind in Historical Context, The ideology of Ghazwa-e-Hind is not a modern invention.
History stands witness to centuries of invasions and conquests carried out under the same mindset.
From Mahmud of Ghazni to Muhammad Ghori,
From Babur to Aurangzeb — India has faced brutal attacks under the guise of religious conquest.
The destruction of Somnath Temple, The burning of Nalanda University,
The demolition of Kashi, Mathura, and Ayodhya temples, The forcible conversions of millions of Hindus – All were driven by one ideology: To turn India into Dar-ul-Islam — a land governed by Islamic rule.
The Modern Resurgence of Ghazwa-e-Hind : In the 21st century, radical terror outfits like Taliban, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and ISIS have revived this dangerous idea.
Several clerics and jihadist influencers based in Pakistan openly preach about Ghazwa-e-Hind from public platforms and on social media, projecting it as a divine mission.
