EO FMDA directs to expedite civic infrastructure development works ahead of Amrita Hospital’s inauguration in August

Faridabad, 20th July 2022: Chief Executive Officer, Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA), Shri Sudhir Rajpal today reviewed the progress of the ongoing civil infrastructure development projects in the Greater Faridabad area and with regard to the upcoming Amrita Hospital in Faridabad and issued directives to expedite the work ensuring quality checks at every stage. The hospital which is slated to be the biggest private sector hospital in India is scheduled for inauguration by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi by the end of August. The CEO of FMDA took stock of the current development of the projects in the presence of Commissioner Municipal Corporation Faridabad Shri Yashpal Yadav, senior officers of FMDA, HSVP, Police Department, Smart City, and Senior Executives of Amrita Hospital.

“FMDA is looking into the requisite scope of infrastructure development work being undertaken in Faridabad to further support the operationalization and functioning of Amrita Hospital which once opened to the public will tremendously uplift the healthcare services not just in the state of Haryana, but in the country at large. Civic work is being taken up on priority and along with it, timely execution, quality checks, and monitoring will be strictly adhered to,” said CEO FMDA Shri Sudhir Rajpal.

The upcoming 2400-bedded Amrita Hospital in Sector 88 Faridabad is spread across 133 acres of land and will offer 81 specialty health services. The medical facility once open will become the largest green building healthcare project in India with a minimal carbon footprint, and zero waste discharge, and will eventually be solar-powered as well. 

It was directed that the 32-crore road construction project being undertaken in Greater Faridabad adjoining the hospital to facilitate better accessibility for citizens at large, be started with immediate effect. The work of the agencies must be regularly inspected to ensure work is finished in a time-bound banner, with no lapse in quality and workmanship.

The hospital also required an additional line of water supply which must be provided without delay. Additionally, there are 4 tube wells along the 75-meter-wide road near Amrita Hospital of which only two are functioning. CEO FMDA directed that the remaining two should also be made operational by re-boring on priority to facilitate their proper use. 

Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) is to further complete the drainage network around the hospital premises in a time-bound manner to curb any drainage-related issues during monsoon and the rest of the year. Municipal Corporation Faridabad was also directed to clear all C&D Waste and garbage regularly in the Greater Faridabad area and to remove all encroachments in the Right of Way.

“The concerned agencies and departments will be engaged to fix the approach and exit points of the bridge above Agra Canal & Gurgaon Canal to offer easy and hassle-free commuting to residents. The horticulture teams have commenced their work towards increasing the green cover and developing the green belt areas in Greater Faridabad and along the bypass road,” added CEO FMDA.
