Faridabad : Oxygen Refilling Management System for COVID Patients

Faridabad, 3 May – The huge demand for oxygen in the wake of the second wave of COVID-19 has increased the importance to develop a well managed system to ensure the availability of oxygen to the needy patients. J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad has once again taken a meaningful initiative to help COVID patients struggling for oxygen.The University in association with District Administration Faridabad and its Alumni Association – YMCA MOB has developed an Oxygen Refilling Management System. Through this System, the family member of patient in need of Oxygen would have to register for which the registration link (https://forms.gle/weYXvXuF7uVB87gw6) will be made available on the District Administration website. For registration, the patient would have to submit its Aadhar card details along-with SPO2 value. With this initiative, the family members of the Covid patient would not have to run around and wait in long queues to fill the oxygen cylinder.Expressing pleasure over the initiative for noble cause, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar said that JC Bose University always given priorities to its social responsibilities. The University has already given its hostels for Covid Care Centre, and now by developing an Oxygen Refilling Management System, the University intends to help such severe COVID patients who are suffering from shortness of breath and their lives can be saved by providing oxygen to them well in time.The initiative of District Administration is being supported by the Department of Electronics Engineering of J.C. Bose University under the supervision of Prof. Neelam Turk and faculty coordinators Dr. Rashmi Chawla and Ms. Sangeeta Dhall.Detailing about the initiative, SDM Ballabgarh Ms. Aparajita said that this is an effort to streamline the distribution of Oxygen for home isolated patients of Faridabad district who need oxygen cylinders. Once the patient register on the link, a dedicated team of 30 student volunteers and officials from District Administration and University would contact the patients and guide them from where they can get their cylinders filled.Those officials who are bearing key responsibilities in this initiative include BDPO Faridabad Sh. Pardeep Balyan, Sh. Anil Bhardwaj, Sh. Naveen Sood and Sh. A.K. Nehra from YMCA MOB.
