Srinagar, Sep 6 : Mobile internet service of all Cellular companies, including Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), remained suspended for the fifth day on Monday in the Kashmir valley, where authorities restored voice call and broadband of all TSPs on Friday night after two days.
Internet service and mobile service of all companies, barring BSNL, were suspended on Wednesday night as a precautionary measure following the death of separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who breathed his last at his residence at Hyderpora in the outskirts of Srinagar.
The voice call and broadband services of all TSPs were restored Friday night. However, broadband of BSNL was working without any suspension in the valley.
Officials said in view of the peaceful situation, mobile service (voice call) and broadband of all TSPs were restored on Friday night. Mobile service (voice call) and broadband of BSNL were never closed, they added.
However, internet on mobile shall remains suspended as a precautionary measure to prevent rumours, they said.
People are yet again requested not to pay any heed to rumours being maliciously spread by the anti-national elements especially across the border with an objective to disturb the prevalent peaceful atmosphere in the valley.
