Shimla, Jul 20 : As rainy season is underway in Himachal Pradesh and an increase in the number of landslides, flash floods and cloud bursts are expected in the coming days.
National Highways as well as other roads often get damaged or blocked which not only generally causes traffic jams at various places, but also result in loss of precious lives and properties.
This problem may get aggravated during the forthcoming apple season. Thousands of tourist vehicles, trucks and pickups and others vehicles enter the State of Himachal Pradesh from other states which may be vulnerable to natural calamities/disasters.
It has come to the notice from the analysis of the Road Accident Data Management System that most of the road traffic accidents cases occur due to bad road conditions, collisions and hitting the pedestrians, commuters, road users, and poor visibility in the rainy, apple season.
Taking into the consideration of topography of HP, poor visibility and narrow road all the tourists/drivers and other commuters are advised the following
Take due care while driving on the road by observing road conditions in a particular area. Be informed about weather conditions from notifications of the State Government and news broadcast before planning a visit to Himachal Pradesh.
Follow the instructions of the Police Department and avoid driving during the night or in rough weather.
